I came across a book by Oral Roberts on Breakthrough around 1994. He shared what he normally did whenever he was facing some trauma. Part of the wisdom gained from that book is that, whatever you want as harvest you must first learn to give it as seed. That later became known as seed-faith principle.
It is a scriptural rule that whatever you are wishing to get, you must first be willing to sow towards it.
David did not call it that, but he acted in the spirit of it. After he lost his base to the Amalekites, he launched a campaign for recovery. While pursuing, they came across someone whose life was hanging by a thread. He ordered the man to be fed and that revived him. He was never too much in a hurry to minister to someone in need. One of the critical factors that bring restoration is taking time to sow into the lives of others who may be in need of recovery or any other predicament. When David took time to recover this man, little did he know that he would hold important information for their own recovery. It was this man who led David to the host where their families and goods were found. Generally, the law of sowing and reaping is all clearly taught in scripture. It is a scriptural rule that whatever you are wishing to get, you must first be willing to sow towards it.
