It is a verifiable concept that wherever you have the presence of God you have the house of God in place. Jacob had an unshakable encounter at Bethel via a dream. When he woke up he declared, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.” He added, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”” (Genesis 28:16-17 NKJV). It is instructive to note that there was no physical building at the place which he described as the house of God and the gate of heaven. This ties well with other scriptures which teaches that God does not dwell in houses built with hands. It is His presence that makes a place sacred!
“The presence of God will guarantee prophecies…Prophesying will reveal the motives of men’s hearts and make them attest to the presence of God in the assembly. “
Where you have the presence of God, you can expect to have at least three things in place. Firstly, expect the power of God to save, heal, and deliver. “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” (Luke 5:17 NKJV). Secondly, the presence of God will guarantee prophecies. By this we mean the declaration of the intents of God’s heart and sometimes of men’s too. This is why Paul enjoined the Corinthians to prophesy rather than speak in tongues. Prophesying will reveal the motives of men’s hearts and make them attest to the presence of God in the assembly. Finally, the presence of God will kick providence into motion. This is what makes God to work anonymously behind the scene to our advantage.
