There are at least three or four times in a year that I receive massive goodwill messages and prayers from around the globe. The Christmas period is a double as that also marks my wedding anniversary. That is quickly followed by New Year wishes. Then comes February when I mark my birthday. A couple of weeks after that comes Easter. Typically, I try to keep pace with the wishes and prayers by acknowledging the senders and sending them goodwill in return. I consider it discourteous not to reply people’s greetings. However, I have never been able to fully reciprocate. After a while, I just get overwhelmed and give up. This is a pointer to the limits of man, no matter how good-intentioned we are.
We ought to be excited that we are dealing with God who is never tired of our case. The more we approach Him for all of our issues, the more satisfied He gets, and the better our lives become.
God is not like man. He can never be overwhelmed even if all the billions of people on earth call on Him at the same time. He never gets tired receiving prayer calls from billions of people across the world. This is the point of emphasis from our lead Scripture today – He neither faints nor is weary! There are actually indications in the Bible that God does not have enough calls from us. Isaiah 62:6-7 says, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth”. We ought to be excited that we are dealing with God who is never tired of our case. The more we approach Him for all of our issues, the more satisfied He gets, and the better our lives become.
