When the Holy Spirit through prophecy asked the leaders at Antioch to separate Barnabas and Saul to the work assigned them, they fasted, prayed and laid hands on them. What transpired on that day is well captured in this verse – “and thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.” (Acts 14:26 KJV). The fasting, prayer, and laying on hands translated to recommendation to the grace of God. As important as money is, there is no record that they sent them with sacks of it. They put grace in charge of their lives and mission, and it produced the money they needed for the work. Paul would later let us into the secret of his amazing ministry. “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV)
If lack of help will lead to disgrace, then it is sound to say that help equals to grace. Whenever you receive help in any area of life, know that the grace of God has answered to you.
Grace was his secret. Grace made for his late coming! We may now pause and ask, “What is grace?” I think it was Reverend Chris Okotie I once heard defining grace as God’s Riches At Christ Expense. This makes some sense, but there is a better way to sum it up with a verse in Isaiah. ““For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.” (Isaiah 50:7 NKJV). If lack of help will lead to disgrace, then it is sound to say that help equals to grace. Whenever you receive help in any area of life, know that the grace of God has answered to you.
