Which of God’s titles or descriptions do you fancy the most? Well, all of them are significant but you may wish to consider this: THE MOST HIGH. That has already surpassed the most superlative description you could get from human tongue. It sets Him apart from other principalities and dominions. Cronus was known as the supreme god in Greek mythology, but that was only for a time. As the myth goes, he was soon dethroned by Zeus. While this should not be taken more than a fable that it is, it reminds us something about our God. The Bible describes Him as the Most High God. This has been His title from the beginning and will continue to all eternity. This is re-assuring for all who have put their trust in Him. There is no fear that someone will rise up in future and dislodge Him, thereby putting in jeopardy those who worship Him.

Let us hear how God puts this in His own words in Isaiah 44:6 – “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” Two verses after this, God spoke again with all audacity: “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.” (Isaiah 44:6). The import of this is that we are in safe hands! We belong to the One whose strength does not abate. We are children of the King whose dominion shall never end.
