The second condition to meet in order to enjoy the blessing of the Lord is to trust Him. Our relationship with God must be characterized by trust. God wants to be trusted. Most decent people love to be trusted. Have you ever been doubted by someone who you think should trust you without a wink? You know you have been true and completely honest; yet your acquaintance refused to trust you. How does it feel to be doubted? It is painful, isn’t it? Trust is the adhesive that binds all relationships together. Without trust a marriage will kiss the dust. Without trust an executive will be busy pursuing the mundane which could be easily handled by his subordinates.

Trust was a factor in the deliverance of Daniel. “Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.” Daniel 6:23 NKJV. There is no reason to doubt God. He deals in total integrity; He says what He would do, and does what He says. He had demonstrated faithfulness to countless multitudes before us. It is comforting to know that He does not change. We may have encountered human beings that proved untrustworthy, but we must never allow that to cause us to think of God in the same light. God is not a man, and He is too faithful to disappoint.
