In the last meditation, we contemplated the beautiful world we will have when Jesus rules the earth. In Jesus’ world, there will neither be pollutants nor irritants. That means there will be nothing to worry or complain about. It is not so in the present order of things. Nothing seems to be in their place, so the temptation of being disgruntled is high. Yet, the Bible warns that we should not follow the ways of the Israelites who complained at every turn of the way. Their natural way of voicing out what they did not understand or agree with was to grumble. That led to their destruction in the wilderness.
It is impossible to be full of complaints and be creative at the same time…complaining will put your creative ability in the reverse gear…A murmuring attitude will close one’s eyes to the solutions.
It is impossible to be full of complaints and be creative at the same time. If anything, complaining will put your creative ability in the reverse gear. A truly creative person can put a better construction on what would warrant murmuring. Most times, what we need is a change of perspective on given stressors, and life will take on a brilliant new meaning. In reality, the children of Israel had no justifiable reason to complain. They got delivered from cruel bondage and saved from the pursuing army of Pharaoh. They had access to food for which they did not labour. Despite these, they murmured. A better approach to life is finding that one reason to be grateful even in the midst of most challenging situations. Incidentally, there was no difficulty that the Israelites had that God did not have solutions for. A murmuring attitude will close one’s eyes to the solutions.
