In the past couple of meditations, we have stressed two reasons why God will prosper His people. Firstly, it is to fulfil His fatherly responsibility of caring; and secondly, to demonstrate that He stands true to His promise. A third reason will be set in the context of a parable contained in Ecclesiastes chapter 10:13-16. It states that there was a little city which was besieged by a mighty king. In the little city was found a wise man, though poor. In his wisdom, the poor man was able to lure the great king away from his intended assault and thereby saved the city. One would have expected a royal honour for the wise man; but the Bible sadly concludes that no one remembered him. The writer states in verse 16, “Then I said: ‘Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless, the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.’”
When believers combine the voice of wisdom with the voice of wealth, they will wield unimaginable influence for God on the earth
A stated objective of God for the church is to be able to teach principalities and powers the manifold wisdom of God. To execute this objective will require that certain members of the church have the financial wherewithal without which we will all be like high sounding cymbals. Money has an irresistible voice! When believers combine the voice of wisdom with the voice of wealth, they will wield unimaginable influence for God on the earth.
