In the Bible, wisdom is always portrayed in a practical way and not some academic posturing or mere rhetoric. Our text first draws our attention to the self-motivating nature of the ants. The Bible records that even though they do not have any appointed supervisor to breathe down heavily on them, they do what is necessary. So wisdom is learning to do what is right with or without supervision. This nature of the ant is a big slap on human beings who sometimes remain notorious and negligent even with supervision.
Working together is wisdom…Those who cannot work with others will not be able to accomplish much in life…Great and lasting things are only possible through team efforts.
The second demonstration of wisdom from ants is team work. Ants are social creatures; they live in large colonies. Depending on the species, ant colonies can consist of millions of ants. Yet they work together for the good of their colonies. This will also shame human beings who have endless squabbles in all their societies. Working together is wisdom; and this is in agreement with divine design. God knows it is not good for man to be alone; so He created societies. You probably will not be able to work with everybody; but if you an unable to work with anybody then you have an underlying problem of poor human relations. Those who cannot work with others will not be able to accomplish much in life. Someone has reasoned that if you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go along with others. Great and lasting things are only possible through team efforts.
