Early August this year, a young lady who was attending Law School in Lagos, Nigeria plunged to her death from a storey building. Information is still scanty about the reason why she decided to take her own life. I observed that opinions expressed through social media varied. Some affirmed that the Law School is a high pressure environment. Others argue that there is no circumstance that can ever justify a young person taking her own life. Experiences have shown that it is always better to err on the side of caution. We may never know the prevailing circumstances surrounding an individual before taking certain decisions. This is not to justify suicide in any form, but that we should be more sympathetic to people who found themselves in this or similar situation.
If Paul with all his encounters in God can come to his wit’s end, then anyone is capable of being exhausted…in the assembly of God’s people, there will always be those who are fainthearted and weak…lookout for them and be ready to provide them with the needed comfort and support.
Consider the mighty apostle Paul that he once thought that life was not worth living anymore. “For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.” II Corinthians 1:8 NKJV. If Paul with all his encounters in God can come to his wit’s end, then anyone is capable of being exhausted. The point is that in the assembly of God’s people, there will always be those who are fainthearted and weak. They may not speak over the loudspeaker to let the world know of their state; so we have to be on the lookout for them and be ready to provide them with the needed comfort and support.

No matter your strength, you’ve got a weakness and sometimes get weary! So you need help! Hence, treat others carefully, support their weakness, and be patient with them.
