Moses was a man who craved much assurance from God. Before he could say yes to God to champion the cause of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, he asked several questions. He questioned his pedigree, if he was the most suited for the job. He complained about his speech impediment, and God raised a spokesperson for him. Miracles were performed to prod him to move. Midway into their journey, Moses was seen again asking for assurance. This time he asked for the presence of God to go with them or they would rather remain in one spot.
There is an inseparable link between the presence and the power of God…Our victory is not determined by multitude of forces and weapons of war; it is by the presence of the Lord.
What is it about the presence of God that made Moses that adamant? There is an inseparable link between the presence and the power of God. “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” Luke 5:17 NKJV. Retaining the presence of God will guarantee walking in His power. So the presence of God has to be preserved. We do this by obeying His every command. Israel that fared well at Jericho fell to little Ai because the presence of God left them. That was because Achan disobeyed God by taking forbidden items when Jericho fell. Our victory is not determined by multitude of forces and weapons of war; it is by the presence of the Lord.
