One Mrs. Deborah Adebisi, popularly known as Mummy Zee, drew the ire of some feminists when she posted that she started waking up about 5am to cook for her husband. They wondered why a woman would enslave herself to a man and then began to disparage her. Well, the Bible does not consider as enslavement when a woman looks after her household. Admonishing elderly women through his epistle to Titus, Paul asked them to teach younger women ‘to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.” Titus 2:5 NKJV. I don’t know Mummy Zee’s religious persuasion, but her action was in line with God’s provision for married women. The feminists who bashed her were the ones with problem.
Have you had to endure bullying? Don’t settle into bitterness; rather commit yourself to God who can work all things together for good.
There was a positive twist to the story. Others saw things differently and praised her. She was seen as a good model of womanhood. Different individuals and corporate bodies gave her money running into millions of naira and a lot of other gift items. Literally, she was bullied to blessing. There are several examples of people who got bullied into their blessings. Joseph was one of them. His brothers maltreated him, but each maltreatment pushed him closer to the throne. Hannah was another example. Her adversary provoked her sore until she took her case to God. She was blessed with Samuel who became one of the finest prophets in Israel.
