The majority of the Jews considered Paul a heretic who abused the laws and customs of the fathers. On account of this, they made several attempts on his life, which he escaped time and again by the grace of God. In his defense before Felix he said, “But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets.” Acts 24:14 NKJV. Here is the irony: what put him at daggers drawn with the Jews and the authorities were the same things that fetched him divine endorsement.
Believers who want the world to press the “like and share” button have mixed things up. That is like choosing to please men which put one at risk with God.
As we observed in the last meditation, taking a stand for God is neither a tea party nor a walk in the park. It is a high-risk venture. However, for those who choose to follow the right path, God always show Himself as their defender and supporter. Someone said that a leader whose primary focus is to make all the people happy and smile at him always had better opt to sell ice cream. This suggestion extends beyond the confines of leadership. Believers who want the world to press the “like and share” button have mixed things up. That is like choosing to please men which put one at risk with God. It is not possible to please two masters. No one can be a friend of the world and hope to please God at the same time.
