I had a funny experience when I first applied for British visa. After queuing all-night long, I was denied, alongside with my wife. The second attempt was not different from the first. I have since crossed that hurdle and currently hold a 10-year visa on my passport. I fared better with the American authorities. I have never been denied visa at any time. However, the food items I once took to their borders to give to people as gifts were confiscated and destroyed.
Heaven is His throne, and He alone can stipulate what will enter…No new birth, no entry… All form of defilement, abomination, and lie will shut people out.
The import of these stories is that the authorities of any nation reserve the right to determine what they would admit or refuse. Isn’t this true of God too? Heaven is His throne, and He alone can stipulate what will enter. I have heard some people speak as if to dictate entering heaven on their own terms. There is no such thing. Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”Matthew 18:3 NKJV. No new birth, no entry. In our passage of today we are told of the things that will deny anyone access into the city of God. All form of defilement, abomination, and lie will shut people out. Those who have the goal of admission must constantly purge themselves by the Blood of the Lamb.
