Some verses of scripture are quite puzzling. I remember the one that says that he who is born of God does not sin; and he cannot sin because the seed of God abides in him. That used to be too much for new converts to grasp as they take every slip of tongue or action as a proof that they were never born again at all. The truth of that scripture is that those who are born again do not make practice of sin, though they may experience hiccups now and then. There is one clear cut demarcation between a sinner and a saint. A sinner looks for opportunity to sin, but a Christian avoids opportunity to sin. A true child of God does not only disengage from evil, he also runs away from everything that appears evil.
Righteousness leads to increase in another sense. When you live right, you are able to attract the grace of God into your life’s pursuits.
Righteousness imparts peace upon the heart. A righteous man needs not fear of being caught. With peace of heart comes clear thought. When your mission is clean, your heart will be free; and when you have a free mind you will think great thoughts that will lead to great increase. Remember that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Righteousness leads to increase in another sense. When you live right, you are able to attract the grace of God into your life’s pursuits. Grace represents God’s input into man’s endeavours, and that is what makes the difference.
