Due to greed and warped mentality of some preachers, it has been argued in recent times that there is nothing like prosperity gospel but rather that there is prosperity in the gospel. Regardless of how you see it one thing is clear: God is not averse to people prospering and living a decent life. There is nothing basically wrong with prosperity; it only becomes dangerous when the purpose is not known. That is when it becomes a trap to the soul.
A revelation of a prosperous God who is also a loving Father will release anyone from the frigidity that people reflect when the subject of prosperity is mentioned.
Our lead scripture says that God has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. To have a good appreciation of what this means, we have to remember that God essentially has the nature of a father. Every father worth that title goes all out to see to the welfare of his children. Jesus reasoned with the people that no earthly father would give a stone to a son when he asks for bread. If this is obtainable with limited, selfish man, how much more will the Heavenly Father do? Paul’s Epistle to Timothy says that God gives us “richly all things to enjoy” (1 Timothy 6:17). A revelation of a prosperous God who is also a loving Father will release anyone from the frigidity that people reflect when the subject of prosperity is mentioned.
