It will take different perspectives to have a fair grasp of the subject of God’s glory. Moses gave a similitude of it when he wrote, “And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.” Exodus 24:17. Another perspective of glory is the power of God leading to miraculous manifestations. – “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth His glory; and His disciples believed on Him” (John 2:11)
God wants to show His true worth or weight; not just to some individuals in some corners of the earth, but all over the world. God’s agenda for a display of His worth is global, and it can begin with you.
The Hebrew word for glory is “kabowd”. It means ‘weight’ in a positive sense. Another way to look at it is to depict it as worth. Using this substitute, John 2:11 will read: “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth His worth”. That makes a perfect sense. When He gave them wine out of the water, it was to show them His worth or what He could do. Practically, the glory of God is about His full essence. With this understanding Numbers 14:21 becomes a breathtaking promise. The Lord said, “But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.” God wants to show His true worth or weight; not just to some individuals in some corners of the earth, but all over the world. God’s agenda for a display of His worth is global, and it can begin with you.
