In 2 Samuel 22, David did a review of his life and made several submissions. One that is of interest to us here is this: “You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your gentleness has made me great.” (2 Samuel
“If you already attained a level of faith that others are struggling to cope with, don’t be impatient with them. Remember that you also struggled a while before your new-found level.”
This brings us to our text. Jesus had meticulously explained His origin and mission to the disciples. For a time, He was not making sense to them. However, in John 16:30 the disciples declared, “We believe that You came from God”. Our text was Jesus’ response to their confession. They finally got it right. Faith or believing takes time. It happens after a period of hearing, doubting, asking questions, and hearing all over again. There is nothing like a sudden faith, it takes a process. If you already attained a level of faith that others are struggling to cope with, don’t be impatient with them. Remember that you also struggled a while before your new-found level.
