Jesus had a blueprint for the church. What He conceived was a firebrand church over which the gates of hell can never prevail. Truth be told, the current state of the church does not exemplify this reality. What we have is a great flux which can be rightly captured by the words of A. W. Tozer in his book, I TALK BACK TO THE DEVIL – “In many churches Christianity has been watered down until the solution is so weak that if it were poison it would not hurt anyone, and if it were medicine it would not cure anyone”.
The clarion call at this time is for the Church of Christ to return to its apostolic foundation, as no other arrangement can make it fulfil its prophetic mandate.
Today’s churches are largely “Laodicean” in their makeup. The church at Laodicea had a wrong measurement of their state. Their financial wealth beclouded them to their true state. While they boasted of having everything in place and had need of nothing, God had a different verdict – they were wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked! God was particularly against that church because of its lukewarmness. Such a situation was far from the Church that Jesus planned for. The clarion call at this time is for the Church of Christ to return to its apostolic foundation, as no other arrangement can make it fulfil its prophetic mandate. The solution that has been watered down must be re-mixed according to biblical standards, so that it can become medicine to cure the world. This will happen one believer at a time until whole congregation and nations are immersed in God’s new move on earth.
