A pastor in one ministerial group to which I belong now lives in England. Before he left the shores of Nigeria, I went to minister in one of their meetings. He has an amazing radio ministry. However, he did not go on air soon enough after God gave him the nudge. At that time, the airing cost was eight thousand naira only (N8,000) for each episode of 30 minutes. He felt that was rather too much for a young ministry with a lean pocket. Sometime later, he had a dream and saw that the cost of airing went up to fourteen thousand naira only (N14,000). In real life, he confirmed that the cost had gone up that much. Despite that he did not move. By the time he was ready to obey the Lord, he paid twenty-seven thousand naira and some fractions to get each episode on the air.
“He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.”
The wise man wrote that, “He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.” (Ecclesiastes 11:4 NKJV). A translation of that says that those who are waiting for perfect conditions will never get anything done. Never think that there will be a better time to do what is right or what the Lord commands. When we delay acting on God’s command or impression, simple things become difficult, and difficult things become impossible. How we need to know that the moment God gives an instruction, the grace for performance is released. If we delay, we weaken the flow of grace, and it can only get costlier to do the same thing in the future. Yesterday, I recalled the cost of a one-hour flight presently. Things may not get cheaper, but the grace of God will always be sufficient. Obedience to God’s instruction will put us on the path of overflowing blessing.
