“As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools.” Psalms 84:6 NKJV

Two sons reportedly grew under an alcoholic father. One became an alcoholic himself, but the other lived clean of alcohol. They asked the first son how he became an alcoholic, and he replied that he watched his father. Later they asked the second son how he had managed to avoid being alcoholic. His response was that he watched his father! Here we have two persons under the same situation turning out differently. How can we explain such scenario? It comes to attitude!  More than the factors of the environment, your attitude plays a big role in who you become.

It is one of two ways: either we are going to succumb to the pressure of the environment or allow the spirit within us to rise and take care of matters.

In recent years, cases of suicide and attempted suicide have become common. The best way to describe this unfortunate development is to call it a covering cast on the land. Many people blame this negative trend on hard economic realities in the nation. The porous nature of such an argument is that vast majority of people are facing similar economic downturn, and they are taking things in their stride. Those who have positive attitude are still making headway despite the difficult terrain. It is one of two ways: either we are going to succumb to the pressure of the environment or allow the spirit within us to rise and take care of matters. God’s children do not have to get to a state of despair, because our Heavenly Father promised never to leave or forsake us. We can always draw from heavenly resources to make a spring out of the valley of Baca (weeping).
