Favour manifests in several ways, but a principal one is through waivers. When favour is at work, rules and norms are sometimes set aside, even if only temporarily. We see that in Esther. She went to see the king, though uninvited. The law of the land did not permit any intrusion on the king. Any intrusion could attract a death sentence. The only exception was if the king lifted the golden sceptre. The Bible paints the picture of what happened when Esther made her approach. “So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter.” Esther 5:2 NKJV.
When favour is at work, rules and norms are sometimes set aside, even if only temporarily…Favour can make you enjoy benefits beyond your imagination.
Favour can make you enjoy benefits beyond your imagination. Understandably, the scripture places favour above silver and gold. “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.” Proverbs 22:1 NKJV. In light of this, it means if you have to choose between favour and riches, choose the former. That means there are things that favour will deliver that great wealth cannot deliver. No wealth could have matched what Esther got when she stood before the king. That singular move averted disaster for the people of God and gave them a mighty victory which is still being celebrated till today.
