SUFFERING

“For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” Hebrews‬

Still, in the spirit of Easter, let us take another look at suffering. There are several
reasons people suffer. Bad leadership is a major reason. “When the righteous are in
authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” (

“If God permits and you suffer unjustly, you are being equipped to help many later on.”

There is another kind of suffering. This is the type we encounter in the course of living to
please the Lord and carrying out our life’s mission. This was the type of suffering that
Jesus experienced. He committed no sin nor showed any form of indiscretion, yet He
suffered. This qualified Him as a Helper to those who suffer. Having suffered, He knows
how it feels and is better disposed to help others. So suffering has its place. If God
permits and you suffer unjustly, you are being equipped to help many later on. God will
grant you grace to deal with the suffering and comfort you. Sometimes in the course of
your life, you will come across people who are facing what you have overcome. Your
experience will then become a tool to minister to such people.
