In our previous meditation, we learned of a great principle of success – learning to conquer little by little. We should be comfortable with the little wins we experience and be grateful for them. Over time, those little wins will aggregate and compound together to give us the big break we desire. Our passage of scripture for today introduces us to another principle of success – partnership. Though we all have different purposes and assignments, some form of cooperation will be required to make good of them. In our text, Judah invited Simeon to assist him take possession of his inheritance. He built an alliance with his brother to actualize destiny. He was humble enough to ask for help when necessary. The importance of partnership is stressed from Genesis to Revelation.
Even if we are feeble individually, tremendous results can be achieved in concert. As little as the ants are, they have mastered the importance of team work to secure the future.
In the book of Ecclesiastes, partnership is praised. “Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes4:9-12 NKJV). Every time that the Lord Jesus sent His disciples, it was in pairs. Either in such a simple task as buying food or a more demanding one like bringing the ass colt, He never let one person alone. Even if we are feeble individually, tremendous results can be achieved in concert. As little as the ants are, they have mastered the importance of team work to secure the future.
