The template was set for Paul the moment he met the Lord on the way to Damascus, and this is well captured in our text. The Lord chose Paul so he could know His will, see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth. All three took place, and they all combined to provide him with the needed guidance for the life of exploits he lived. God’s guidance will always lead to lofty achievements. Divine guidance will make the seemingly impossible a walkover. When God leads, lack will give way to abundance. Sucking honey out of the rock and oil out of the flinty rock implies that provision will come from unlikely and difficult places. When He guides, nothing is impossible.
God’s guidance will always lead to lofty achievements. Divine guidance will make the seemingly impossible a walkover. When God leads, lack will give way to abundance…When He guides, nothing is impossible.
What then is the secret of knowing His voice? It is to get acquainted with God. God still speaks today. He that made the mouth will He not speak? The design of the Tabernacle is clear that God loves to talk with His people. “And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.” Exodus 25:22 NKJV. We should not expect any less, since it is only reasonable to say that He who created the mouth should be able to speak. God has never stopped talking to people, the problem is that we are often too busy and distracted. Whenever we turn aside, like Moses, we will hear Him.
