Jeremiah was once told to go to the potter’s house and watch the process. As the potter made a vessel, it suffered a defect. Rather than throw away the clay, the potter remade it into another vessel. The import of that was to teach the prophet that what the clay was in the hand of the potter was what the children of Israel were in His hands. The moral of this is that God can redeem and restore! In our text, the instruction to go to the ant is of general application, no particular group of people is intended. Just about anyone in search of wisdom can benefit from what goes on in the ant kingdom.
