The successful execution of any mission is governed by several factors. People factor will rank high on the list. It is often said that without people a vision will perish. Missions don’t accomplish themselves, it takes people to drive them. The right method will also count significantly in the execution of a mission. David once had a mission to move the ark of God to Jerusalem. It was a noble mission with popular support, but there was a casualty because he employed the wrong method. He made them put the ark in a new cart instead of the priests bearing it.
All these factors will count for nothing if the timing is not right…God will make all things beautiful if we wait for His time… Refraining from hasty actions is a proof of faith in the living God.
In our previous meditation, we noted that the devil strikes at calculated times. So it takes the understanding of time to escape his wiles. Today, we are considering the subject of time from another perspective. One may have a noble vision manned by competent people using the right method and still make a mess of it. All these factors will count for nothing if the timing is not right. Moses spent an avoidable 40-year period in the wilderness because he launched his deliverance mission prematurely. God will make all things beautiful if we wait for His time. The word of Isaiah is a good way to end this note. Isaiah 28:16 says, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily.” Refraining from hasty actions is a proof of faith in the living God.
