After Moses thought that it was rather ambitious of God to say He would feed the nation of Israel with meat for one month, he received a sharp rebuke in form of a question. “And the LORD said to Moses, “Has the LORD’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”” Numbers 11:23 NKJV. Moses was no stranger to the mighty things that God’s mighty hand had made possible. From the many miracles in Egypt prior to their release to the parting of the Red Sea, Moses was not in the dark. It would seem, however, that Moses suffered some temporary amnesia, and God was calling his attention back to what had been done. God’s hand is never short to save; but forgetfulness of His past records can cut us away from the blessings.
“he Lord’s hand, which invariably translates to salvation, is always stretched out towards those who walk in holiness. A choice of personal holiness will not only save us from many troubles, but it will also make God flex His power on our behalf”
Our scriptural text for today shows us another thing that can militate against our enjoying the saving hand of God. It is compromise! Our lead Scripture stresses the importance of separation from every evil way. This will ensure that God answers us when we call. That translates to favour. Anyway, separation is inevitable; either sin will separate us from God or God will have to separate us from sin. The choice is ours to make. If we let sin separate us from Him then He hides His face from us, leaving us with the attendant trouble and general confusion. The Lord’s hand, which invariably translates to salvation, is always stretched out towards those who walk in holiness. A choice of personal holiness will not only save us from many troubles, but it will also make God flex His power on our behalf.
