One thing to add from the example of Nehemiah is that it is not a crime to ask God for reward. On no occasion was Nehemiah reprimanded for asking God to remember him.

God rewards faithful labours. There is the earthly dimension of reward meant for here and now; and there is the incorruptible reward reserved for us in heaven.

If we won’t deny our children of what they need and we can afford, we should be assured that God will not withhold anything good from us.

Except we put our hands to the plough, we will be frustrating the grace of God.

Rehoboam’s attitude to the people of Israel points to how indiscretion in speech can lead to a ruin. After Solomon’s death, the people came to make a deal with him.

Every time people step outside of their boundaries, they step outside of grace and become vulnerable. The Bible compares those who wander from their place to a bird who wanders away from its nest.

Decide on the lifestyle you want, one that is pleasing to God, then let that guide you in choosing your circle of friends.

Rejoice when you are being mishandled? Yes, rejoice because you are in good company. All the holy prophets of God were mishandled.

Certainly, Jesus was in favour of conversation. He left us with an established protocol for resolving conflicts among brethren.

Our bodies are likened to God’s sacred temple. To say the least, God is jealous over His temple. Once, Jesus was enraged when they turned the temple to a house of merchandise and den of robbers.
