PATRIOTISM

There is something about patriotism that moves people beyond the dictates of comfort and personal safety.

When Jesus invited people to His rest, it was meant to be based on His finished work.

Lastly, our text makes us to understand that God does not give with one hand and collect with the other. His gifts are irrevocable.

This same God is described as the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. He is our “go-to” Father at all times. He is a Father with a difference.

Compare that to believers’ reward – incorruptible crowns. We are not just chasing a crown that cannot perish, we are gunning for glory!

Whether in terms of following the Lord or our life’s ambitions, we can rise to win after a fall.

That is when a child of God should remember the source of his or her strength. We have an inexhaustible reservoir of strength, Jesus Christ.

Believers ought to have the pilgrim spirit. We manifest the pilgrim spirit when we help a faltering brother or sister.

It is possible to have all the physical attributes of success and be unsatisfied and even get jealous of others.

Grace is administered through hearing the word of God. It is instructive to know that the scripture describes God’s word as the word of His grace.
