Something bizarre took place in St. Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city. An angry husband filled his wife’s car with concrete! He admitted that they have been having a rough patch in their marriage before that incident. Things came to a head when the woman changed from her husband’s name to another for pecuniary reasons. The husband chose this line of action because he knew how much she loved the car. He went for what would inflict the maximum hurt.
“Sometimes, I like to consider anger as temporary insanity. A spell of anger can cause irreparable damage. This is why the Bible condemns those who have no rule over their spirits.”
People express their anger in various ways. From verbal abuse to physical, withdrawal to malicious damage, we have different means of showing displeasure. What is often forgotten is the fact that all sense of decorum and judgment could be lost in a feat of anger. Take another look at this man’s display of anger. He confessed that they had been having difficulty in their relationship. How could filling the car with concrete help to resolve issues? That goes against the voice of reason. That won’t de-escalate tension; rather it was going to lead to more trouble. Think of it another way. Imagine if the wife sues for damages. Someone put humour to the whole story. He hoped the woman would sue because she has “concrete” evidence! In all probability, he would have to pay for another car if the case ever made it to a law court.
