Feeding babies in those days were sometimes dramatic. If for any reason a child was not cooperating, the mother would employ force to feed him or her almost through a chokehold. Mothers knew that feeding well was good for the health of their children, and so they don’t wait until they are ready. Making valuable contributions into the life of an adult does not follow the same pattern. You cannot force your way into helping people. Most times people make up their minds concerning what they would or not do. Once they reach that stage, they become evasive to those who want them to reconsider their stand. I arrived at this conclusion last year as my attempts to bring stability to some families and ministries hit the brick walls. It will end in futility if you attempt to help those who don’t as much realise that they need help or are not ready for it.
Knocking at the door is a request for consent to enter…Those who want to see more of the acts of God in their lives must learn to make room for Him.
Do you realise that God also does not gatecrash into people’s lives? With regards to the operation of the universe, certain laws have been put in place and these go on season after season. Those general laws will keep applying to people as long as they are on earth. However, on personal issues, including salvation of souls, individuals must make room for it. No wonder the scripture says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20 NKJV). Knocking at the door is a request for consent to enter. He has power to break down the door and enter. He can even enter without passing through the door. However, all these would contradict the laws and principles under which He operates. Those who want to see more of the acts of God in their lives must learn to make room for Him.
