Shortly after the colourful conclusion of our ministry’s 2023 convention, I had an opportunity to teach at a workshop organised by a ministerial body. The theme of their meeting was RAPID GROWTH. My approach to the subject was to first locate the word or promise of God that covers such. Why was that necessary? Simply, what is not promised cannot be appropriated. Pursuing what is not promised is like a goose chase.

Borrowing from that, it is important to have a word from the Lord by which we can navigate the year….Going into a thing without God’s clear word will amount to groping in the dark. There is no surer recipe for stumbling than working in the dark.

Really, every new thing you want to embark upon should have a word as its origin. In Psalm 119:105, David said, “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path”. Going into a thing without God’s clear word will amount to groping in the dark. There is no surer recipe for stumbling than working in the dark. In addition, when what you are doing runs into a storm, you will be able to calm it if you got a word at the beginning. If you make God’s word your guiding light throughout this year, you will experience greater progress and there will be no mountain too big to surmount.
