Christianity is designed to be knowledge-driven! We don’t get to enjoy freedom without knowledge. Sentiments and emotionalism are not adequate. Principally, victory in the Christian walk is a function of understanding our position in God. Except we understand basic new creation realities we will barely get along in life. It is fundamentally important to know that when we became born again, God entered into us and we entered into Him. Physically, we remain here on earth; but spiritually we are in a vantage position, right in God’s presence. Accordingly, Paul said our life is hid in Christ. “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). Imagine what confidence believers would have if they got the revelation that their life is not exposed to the whims of the devil, but is hidden in God.
“To be victorious we have to constantly invoke the knowledge of who we are and our position in Him. The devil must take to his heels once you let him know you are light, and you live in God”
That brings us to the text of Scripture above. The Bible declares that darkness was under the feet of God! Remember we already said we are in God. If this is true, then whatever is under the feet of God is under the feet of the Saints of God. The point is that not many things can destroy believers; our undoing is traceable to ignorance of who we are, and where we are. In Ecclesiastes 2:13 the Bible tells us that light excels darkness, just as wisdom excels folly. Believers are light; and no work of darkness is strong enough to overpower them. To be victorious we have to constantly invoke the knowledge of who we are and our position in Him. The devil must take to his heels once you let him know you are light, and you live in God
