Like most abilities of man, creativity can be engaged wrongly. Deepak Chopra said, “The best use of creativity is imagination. The worst use of creativity is anxiety”. The reality of life is that there would be challenges, but God does not want us to waste our time sulking and wondering what went wrong. As Jesus taught the people on the Mount, He warned them not to be overwhelmed with concerns about what to eat, drink, or wear. In addition to the warning, He advised them to take one day at a time and not to get beaten down by thoughts of what would happen in future. He emphasized, “Sufficient for the day is its own trouble”. Meaning, every day has enough load. If you stretch that a little, it will make perfect sense to say that every year has its troubles.
“Grace is the antidote to worry, and that is plentifully available at God’s throne.”
Though every year has its hiccups, the Lord does not want us to worry. He expects us to contact the grace to deal with whatever the year throws up. Isaiah 42:16 is a wonderful promise – “I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them” (NIV). Regardless of the challenges you face, God is committed to turning the darkness into light and making the rough places smooth. Grace is the antidote to worry, and that is plentifully available at God’s throne.
