God’s operations are beyond the limits of human conventions. One reason why many people miss the operations of God is that they expect Him to reason and act like human beings. The Bible is plain in stating that God’s ways are different from our ways. When viewed from human standpoint, most of the preferred ways of the Lord will appear foolish. What we must never forget is that even those things that appear foolish are wiser than the best wisdom man can put together. “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (I Corinthians 1:25 NKJV).
“God is still manifesting Himself today to people in unexpected, unconventional ways.”
The superiority of God’s ways to man’s played out in the way and manner that the Saviour came into the world. Jesus is variously described as Lord and King. Now, consider His earthly lineage. His mother was a poor Jewish girl. Mary herself testified of her poor estate. “For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed” (Luke 1:48). And for His foster father he had Joseph, a carpenter. From human consideration, this does not depict royalty. Again, consider where He was born into. The Bible explains that on the day of His delivery there was no place in the inn. So He was born in a manger. For the record, a manger is a box in a building designed to lodge and feed horses or cattle. If any of the world leaders were expecting a baby, it would certainly be in a state-of-the-art facility. The way Jesus came was the reason why many people missed Him. God is still manifesting Himself today to people in unexpected, unconventional ways.
