A common mistake of many believers is to consider God’s reward package in form of dole-outs. While it may sometimes come in this form, we must remember that God has innumerable ways to reward the faithful. In Luke chapter 5 Jesus used Peter’s boat for a make-shift podium to preach to the crowd. When He was done preaching, He turned round to reward the donor of the boat. He didn’t do that by giving him money directly; neither did He send anyone to “bless” him as we would say. He simply guided him into what to do. Take note also that Jesus used his trade to reward him.
Take a closer look at what you do; God may have a reward reserved for you in it….Instead of looking for a dole-out, maybe it is about time you began desiring divine direction. One word of instruction from Him could mean a compensation plan for many years of faithful service.
Have you considered that the work you do could be an avenue for reward? God’s word says there is a profit for every labour. Take a closer look at what you do; God may have a reward reserved for you in it. Also, when God gives you an instruction or a direction, don’t waste time analysing it. Just obey! Can you imagine that Peter was asked to launch into the same sea where he had laboured and caught nothing? It did not make sense, but he obeyed. “And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.” (Luke 5:6-7 NKJV). Instead of looking for a dole-out, maybe it is about time you began desiring divine direction. One word of instruction from Him could mean a compensation plan for many years of faithful service.
