The sole problem of many believers is in the soul. Many believers have active spirit and body, but they are barren in their mind. The barrenness of mind is discernible in what people say, the choices they make and in what they do. Take the following as illustrations. A young man saw me at the entrance of a supermarket. Judging from the Bible he clutched to his armpit, you could tell he had something to do with the faith. Knowing that I am a pastor, he asked me right there and then, “How do I locate my gifts?” He appeared zealous on the surface, but cut across to me as someone bereft of right approach to things. The entrance of a supermarket is the last place to be giving tutorial on spiritual gifts.
Those who develop the spirit and the body without activating the potentials of their minds will have a roller coaster experience in life.
Consider another woman who met me after church service one day. She came in company of her four children whose ages were so close that you could mistake them for quadruplets. She proudly announced that the remaining two children were at home! Then she told me that she had accommodation problem. Matter of fact, I made her know that I am not into real estate business. When asked about her husband, she informed me that he had been without job for 3 years. I reasoned that the last two children came within those three years. I concluded that she did not have accommodation problem, but a mind problem. The church is full of characters like this. They blame some spiritual forces and never see that their trouble is because their minds are on holiday. Those who develop the spirit and the body without activating the potentials of their minds will have a roller coaster experience in life.
