Perhaps, half of the problems that believers have would fade away if they take care of their faith life. Both from the teachings of Jesus and the apostles, faith is an absolute essential for a victorious life. Out text ties our victory to faith. A few examples will show how imperative faith is as a subject. Peter saw the Master walk on the water and became fascinated. He asked Jesus if he could join Him on the ride and got a nod. He took the first couple of steps with euphoria until he saw the wind. That’s when he started to sink. Jesus saw that as a faith problem. “And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31, NKJV).
“Strong faith will lead to great victory – ALWAYS!”
At another time, Jesus began to teach His disciples to be wary of the leaven of the Pharisees. The disciples thought it was because they did not carry bread along. Jesus found that hard to take, when on two previous occasions He had miraculously provided bread for multitudes. He also saw this as a faith problem. “But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “O you of little faith, why do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?” (Matthew 16:8, NKJV). And when the disciples could not cast out the devil from a young boy Jesus equally saw it as a faith problem. “Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you’” (Matthew 17:19-20, NKJV).
