Several things must be conquered before we can attain our destined heights and glory. However, the first thing to conquer is intimidation. He who conquers intimidation conquers all. Intimidation can be an attempt to use fright to force someone into doing or not doing something. This may include the use of violence or blackmail. It can also be an attempt to create a feeling of fear or inadequacy in someone. What kept the army of Saul from responding to Goliath? Intimidation! Goliath used his mammoth size and tone of voice to intimidate them. It took a young man, David, who refused to be deterred to silence him.
He who conquers intimidation conquers all. Intimidation can be an attempt to use fright to force someone into doing or not doing something.
It took Nehemiah fifty-two days to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. That would have been impossible without conquering intimidation. Within that time Nehemiah faced intimidation in various ways. He was ridiculed. He was misrepresented. He was accused of seeking to impose himself as king. He was served a false prophecy to make him take a wrong step. Despite all these, Nehemiah prevailed and completed the task. Through careful planning, continuous motivation of the workforce, and consistent reliance on God through prayer, the task was accomplished. Nehemiah’s story inspires us to resist all forms of intimidation.
