You have one of the most curious battles recorded in the Bible in Judges 20. Eleven tribes warred against the tribe of Benjamin. They had a good cause, wanting to exterminate folly from the land. They had the advantage of number, literally outnumbering the opponents in a ratio of 11:1. They also had God on their side, because they sought guidance from God and got His approval. However, despite all these, they lost the first two rounds of the battle. That drove them to God again to enquire whether to shield the sword or go again. The answer was that they should go up again for the third time, with the assurance that they would be victorious.
Victory does not always come at the first attempt. It takes doing the right thing for the right length of time to enjoy victory.
This encounter brings us back to our lesson yesterday. Victory does not always come at the first attempt. It takes doing the right thing for the right length of time to enjoy victory. If there have been setbacks in the past, that should not be enough reason to abandon the dream. If the dream is born of God, receive grace to launch out again in this new year. However, if the setbacks occurred because you have gone after self-appointed missions, going again will not make any difference. Wait on God and ask Him what He would have you do with your time and other resources this year.

This bread and wine should be a sure read for everyone. It captures realities and simplifies them even to a layman. I ask for grace to make it my must read every day.
