God has several ways of speaking to people. In the Old Testament time, people received dreams and visions. Some saw trances of angels. Under the priesthood of Aaron, the Urim and the Thumim played a major role in receiving divine communication. As our text shows, the standard way by which God has spoken in these last days is by His Son, Jesus. Mark you, Jesus is equally the Word of God. Therefore, there is no communication that can assume divine status if it ever contradicts or violates the principles so broadly enumerated in God’s word.
If we maintain a simple and sincere heart, God will reach us one way or another before we commit ourselves to danger. Seeking extra-biblical solution to issues is a bait of hell.
By reason of people’s folly or stubbornness, there are times when God will employ unconventional means to speak. A clear case was the confession of a Bishop in the Pentecostal stream of ministry. The Bishop came under pressure of a colleague and wanted something big to happen for him. He was at the verge of being lured into the occult. On his way to meet the voodoo man, a mad man ordered him to return home! He returned home, shivering. He was later informed of how his colleague died shamefully! If we maintain a simple and sincere heart, God will reach us one way or another before we commit ourselves to danger. Seeking extra-biblical solution to issues is a bait of hell.
