God’s operations in us can be described in three ways. Firstly, there is the performance aspect. David referred to this in Psalm 57:2 – “I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me.” (NKJV). Next, we have the perfecting phase of God’s operations. This is what Psalm 138:8 talks about. “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” (NKJV). Finally, we have the preservation of His works in every life.
So God performs, perfects and preserves. In other words, God cares! He cares for every aspect of life that has been entrusted into His hands. It will interest you to note that God cares for both our needs and our tastes. When He gave manna to Israel, that was demonstrating His care for their basic need. When He gave them flesh, it was a care for their taste. Someone might say, but that destroyed them. Not really. It was not the meat that destroyed them, but their greed, murmuring, fear and unbelief. Walking with God in the light of His word guarantees that He will take care of your needs. As you are consistent in your walk with Him, build your confidence in this God who cares.
