We hosted a minister of the gospel long ago. I guess it must have been in the second year of our operations as a ministry. He was lodged at a modest hotel by the standard of the time and based on what we could afford. One day, I decided to pay him a courtesy visit. I got to the hotel and asked for his room. “The book will reveal it”, said the receptionist. At that time, they had no computer to keep track of things; all transactions were recorded in hardcover notebooks. He then leafed through the pages to locate his room.
“In view of the coming judgment, we must learn to be intentional with life. “
The words from the young man stuck with me – the book will reveal it. You could say that those words are sacred! The Bible makes us to know that God is the Bookkeeper-in-Chief, and on judgment day, He will decide every man’s case according to what is written of them. God’s book of records is comprehensive, containing full transactions of all human beings that ever lived. While we live, we stand the chance of choosing what enters into our book of records. Knowing that all thoughts, words, and acts will matter, we need to be circumspect in all of these. God’s word enjoins us to examine ourselves. In view of the coming judgment, we must learn to be intentional with life.
