Believers have their security affirmed in several ways. One is the power of God. Peter reminded his audience that they “are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” I Peter 1:5 NKJV. Faith in the power of God is a rock of refuge. When we believe in the ability and willingness of God to deliver, no powers of hell can assault us. Another thing that keeps believers is purpose.
Another thing that keeps believers is purpose. Purpose kept Jesus…God has His master plan for everyone, and no power of hell can diminish from it as long as we align with Him.
Purpose kept Jesus. Before the Cross, several attempts were made on His life. At one time, they tried to throw Him down from a cliff. At yet another time, they wanted to stone Him. None of those attempts succeeded because His mission was still on course. In our text, He stated that He had finished His mission. It was after that confession that He submitted Himself into the hands of the Jews and Romans. We see this truth in Paul’s life. Like his Master before him, several attempts were made at his life. He escaped several close shaves with death until he declared, ““For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.” I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:6-7 NKJV. God has His master plan for everyone, and no power of hell can diminish from it as long as we align with Him.
