Recent meditations have been anchored on the importance of God’s timing for the reward of every faithful service. In due season, God will demonstrate His faithfulness and reward whatever we have done for the sake of the kingdom. Beyond the scope of reward, timing is important for every other thing as well. For example, each of life’s purposes are divinely timed. “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV). Our consideration today is to examine if we can in any way have an idea of divine timing either for reward or the execution of God’s purpose. The answer is a resounding yes. In our lead scripture, Daniel understood the timing when the children of Israel were to depart their captors’ den. He gained that insight when he gave attention to reading the prophecy of Jeremiah. God’s word is a lamp and a light. Giving attention to it helps us to connect with divine timing. By the way, it was also by the written word that Jesus understood the scope of His assignment on earth.
God’s word is a lamp and a light. Giving attention to it helps us to connect with divine timing…In addition to reading the word of God, developing sensitivity in the spirit is vital to understanding divine timing.
In addition to reading the word of God, developing sensitivity in the spirit is vital to understanding divine timing. This was what set the prophets apart. “Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.” (I Peter 1:10-11 NKJV). The prophets engaged the Spirit of Christ that was in them to determine times and seasons. If you are born again, the Spirit of Christ is in you. That Spirit will communicate with your recreated human spirit and give you consciousness of the right time on every occasion.
