In our previous meditation, we saw that battles are inevitable in our quest for success.
No one can actualize God’s plans with folded hands. We observed how Nehemiah had
to fight off intimidation. Incidentally, Nehemiah was not the only Bible character that
battled intimidation; David also did. “And the king and his men went to Jerusalem
against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “You
shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you,” thinking, “David cannot
come in here.” (II Samuel
“God on our side, we can silence every form of intimidation.”
Jeremiah also had his fair share of this battle. When he was introduced to the plan of
God for his life, his young age was going to intimidate him. “Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD!
Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”(Jeremiah
Here is the twist to the issue. Whereas Jeremiah was bordered by his young age,
Abraham and Sarah were bordered about being too old to fit into God’s plan. God also
brought them out of that defeating mindset. So it seems that intimidation is a pervasive
problem faced by many. How do we go through it and still attain purpose? Rely on the
promises of God. In our text, God promised that through the high waters or flaming fire,
He would be with us. With God on our side, we can silence every form of intimidation.
