God is a Master Designer. Here the Psalmist says all his members were written in God’s book before he even became an embryo! Well, that is true of every other human being too. No builder starts digging the foundation trenches without referring to some prior drawings. In God’s wisdom, there is a sketch for every life before conception ever takes place. It is in this light we can understand what God told Jeremiah that He knew him before he was conceived in his mother’s womb. God has a sketch for your life from start to finish! Knowing this can only make us echo the words of Psalm 139:17-18: “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.”

What Jesus said about our protection is no less profound than the thought expressed by the psalmist. Trying to demonstrate the absurdity of fearing man, Jesus told the disciples that as cheap as the sparrows are, not one of them could be caught without the Father’s express permission. He stressed the point further by saying, “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Matthew 10:30 NKJV). Being conscious of these facts will help us to cast away all worries. Daily living to crosscheck with God concerning every action that we take, whether it is in line with His original sketch is a recipe both for our safety and happiness.
