Our thoughts matter. This is because they are the seeds of our words and actions. There are several important things to know about thoughts. One is that they are repetitive until they lead to a particular mindset or become a stronghold. Also, most people are negative in their thought patterns. Consider what a source says: “It was found that the average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those thousands of thoughts, 80% were negative, and 95% were exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before.” (tlexinstitute.com > how-to-effortlessly-have-more-positive-thoughts). So if most people appear stuck, it is because of their negative and vicious thought patterns.
Jesus warned about how people think. It disqualified many people from partaking in His wonderful ministry. The people of Nazareth, where He grew up, were particularly worse off. They got stuck in their minds, thinking He was just the carpenter’s son that they knew. They missed the transition that occurred when He was baptized and the Father gave witness that He was the only begotten Son with whom He was pleased. To break loose from negative thought patterns and their limiting effect, you must learn to renew your mind by God’s word. Other exercises that will help reprogram the mind are prayer and positive confessions.
