In Manchester, I had for my company Pastor Chinelo Dilimono and her children, and three of Firstlove Assembly Diaspora Fellowship members – Mitop, Dare, and Samuel. Samuel was barely three weeks in the UK by the time I visited. They all came from different parts of England to share fellowship and hear me preach. Samuel seized the moment to give me the rundown of how he made it to England to study for his Master’s degree. While he was a member of a ministry in Port Harcourt, he showed so much passion for God’s service. The man who quartered him sent him a packing because he was uncomfortable with his level of zeal. When the church learned of his plight, they sponsored him through his university education. Years later, one of the men who had observed his zeal earlier saw him and asked why he hadn’t gone overseas like most of his colleagues. He told the man that there was no money. The man decided to pick the bill and paid tens of thousands of pounds to send him to England. I asked him if the man was a relation and he said they only met in church.
Serving God is rewarding, you just may not know how and when the reward will come… Keep serving God with your time, talent, and treasure, believing that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Isaiah 45:19 comes to light here – “I have not spoken in secret, In a dark place of the earth; I did not say to the seed of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in vain’; I, the Lord, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.” (NKJV). The New Testament counterpart of this will be Hebrews 6:10 – “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (NKJV). Serving God is rewarding, you just may not know how and when the reward will come. This is where faith comes in. Keep serving God with your time, talent, and treasure, believing that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
